    Product Description

    ONLY 19 CASES AVAILABLE!

"We sold out of the 2012 Schild Estate Shiraz from Australia’s Barossa Valley last year at the regular price of $18.99. However, we just received a closeout for the last 19 cases, which we are selling for ONLY $14.99! That’s the lowest price in the country for a wine that is right in the middle of its peak drinking window. This full-bodied, supple Shiraz has loads of dark fruits and a savory goodness that yearns for a hamburger with sharp cheddar from the grill, BBQ ribs, a spicy sausage or pizza. Get it while it lasts!" – Glen Knight, The Wine House (7/10/17)

    WINEMAKER’S NOTES

2012 was a one of those wonderful years where Mother Nature provides the kind of climatic conditions that sees both winemakers and vignerons get excited.

Color: Dark cherry red, with purple, black hues.
Bouquet: Expressive dark berry fruit, a hint of creaminess and some subtle controlled oak spice.
Palate: Abundant, soft up front notes of plums and blackcurrant are followed by a deep inky feel to the wine, all of which provide a fullness of mouth feel before a fine tannin frame arrives to provide a clear direction and structure. The dark berry fruit returns to help the wine roll out through a long, comforting finish.

    ABOUT SCHILD ESTATE

The Schild name has a long history in the Barossa dating back to 1952 when Ben Schild purchased the Three Springs Farm property in Rowland Flat and settled with his family. Ben transformed the land into a mixed farm with a focus on sustainable viticulture. Schild Estate’s vineyards include some of the oldest in Australia including the famous Moorooroo vineyard near Jacob’s Creek, which was planted in 1847 by William and John Jacob. Ed’s vineyard site selection has favored the cooler, southern end of the Barossa near Lyndoch, which enjoys a slower and longer ripening period – perfect for optimum grape flavor development.

These generous wines are spearheaded by the iconic Moorooroo Shiraz, demonstrating regional integrity and illustrating Schild Estate’s reputation as Pure Barossa. Schild Estate wines are an expression of the southern Barossa, which enjoys a slower and longer ripening period – perfect for optimum grape flavor development. Meticulous viticultural and winemaking practices ensure all wines reflect their sub region.

    Wine Spectator: 90 points

Dark and brooding, but not heavy, swirling with black coffee-accented cherry and black olive flavors, with refined tannins. Open-textured and compelling. Best from 2015 through 2020. 25,000 cases made
