    Product Description

    CROWD PLEASER FROM PORTUGAL!

"I don’t bring many wines in from Portugal, but when I tasted this wine – and saw theeye-catching, cork label – I couldn’t resist! It’s such a tasty easy-drinking wine – bright red fruit, and soft tannins this will have you coming back for more! When you getthe wine – don’t forget to touch the label – it’s made from cork! It’s a great reminder that Portugal is the world’s largest producer of cork, and the forests are a renewable resource – the trees are not killed to harvest the cork. This crowd-pleasing wine is made by a family-owned and operated winery – exactly the kind of business we love to support!" – Jim Knight, The Wine House (5/6/17)

"Portugal is the world’s largest producer of cork, and our region, Alentejo, is called theland of cork. Portuguese cork forests rank among the top biodiversity hotspots in Europe.

This collection is a tribute to our region and to our family’s commitment in preservethe cork forests in our lands." – Herdade São Miguel

    "Best Buy" from Wine Enthusiast:

"The cork label is a reminder that the Alentejo is where most of Portugal’s cork oaks grow. The wine is southern in feel, warm and ripe, with generous fruitiness from theAlicante Bouschet in the blend. Red berry fruits are laced with acidity and fine soft tannins. Drink from 2017." – Roger Voss, November 2016

    FROM THE IMPORTER

TASTING NOTES: This wine is ruby in color, with an intense aroma of red and black forest fruits plus toasted notes. With smooth tannins and a nice acidity, this is a very easy-drinking wine.

SERVING HINTS: This wine pairs well with Mediterranean food, pasta dishes, lamb, poultry and assorted soft cheeses.

WINEMAKER NOTES: The grapes for this wine were harvested during the night atthe perfect state of ripeness. After de-stemming, the grapes underwent an extremely cold soaking, followed by eight hours of maceration before pressing. The grapes are vacuum- pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25 C. Malolactic fermentation took place in stainless steel vats with French oak staves.
