The company produces Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Rosso di Montalcino DOC, IGT Toscana “San Martino”, Sant’Antimo Rosso DOC “Throb”, extra virgin olive oil and grappa.

    Wine Spectator: 94 points

This red combines power and elegance, with bright acidity and dense tannins. Cherry and plum fruit are accented by leather, tobacco and mineral as this glides to a lingering conclusion. Shows fine balance, with a tealike finish. Best from 2020 through 2035. 1,200 cases made. -Bruce Sanderson

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 91 points

The La Colombina 2012 Brunello di Montalcino opens to tart berry notes with dried cherry and blackberry at the front. The wine delivers thick texture and smooth consistency that is in line with the attributes of this warm vintage. Spice, leather and tobacco appear on the finish. This Brunello is aged in large oak casks (with both French and Slavonian wood) for up to 40 months. -Monica Larner

    Vinous: 90 points

Bright red-ruby. Musky but initially subdued aromas of plum, red cherry and botanical herbs, though the fruit gains in weight with aeration. Then ripe red cherry, woodsy underbrush and spice flavors are joined by a musky tobacco quality that leaves an impression of a faintly bitter but not unpleasant edge. Ripely tannic on the broad, savory but not exceptionally long finish. A fairly intense and substantial wine, in a warm style (15% alcohol) that will match best with hearty foods such as stews. -Ian D'Agata
